Overview

The Gulfstream G500, entering service in 2018, introduced a new era of Gulfstream technology. It was the first aircraft to feature Gulfstream's revolutionary Symmetry Flight Deck with active-control sidesticks (replacing traditional yokes), 10 touchscreen displays, and the most advanced avionics suite in business aviation.

With a cabin width of 2.31 m and range of 9,630 km at Mach 0.85, the G500 connects city pairs like London to Mumbai, Paris to Beijing (with one stop), or Dubai to New York nonstop. The cabin provides three living areas in a 13-passenger configuration.

Cabin Layout

The G500 cabin features Gulfstream's 2.31 m wide cross-section with 1.88 m stand-up height and a flat floor. The standard three-zone layout includes a forward conference/dining area with four seats, a mid-cabin club section, and an aft divan/sleeping area. A full-size galley forward and enclosed lavatory aft complete the amenities.

Fourteen panoramic oval windows — the largest in business aviation — illuminate the cabin. Gulfstream's 100% fresh air system delivers complete air replacement every 2 minutes, and the cabin altitude at FL510 is just 1,402 m, significantly lower than competitors.

Competitors

The G500 competes with the Bombardier Global 5500, Dassault Falcon 6X, and Embraer Praetor 600. Its key advantages are the Symmetry Flight Deck technology, 100% fresh air cabin environment, lowest cabin altitude in class, and strong Gulfstream residual values.
